How'd the meet go?

How'd the rest of the meet go fellaz? Anyone else show? Get both cars done? geez i wish i coulda stayed for the front springs and shocks as well. hope yall had some fun!!!

Yea, well, I made it home ok! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
We figured it was about 2 & 1/2 hrs per car. Mine is questionably too low... but the other looks great. I bet it felt good driving it home!
I had to stop, and then slowly easy up the driveway to make sure it didn't scrape. lol.
Drove fine, the bumps were a little loud, but handled great.
I had a blast, and, even if I don't keep the set up, it was worth just hanging out and getting something done together. I'm off to hawk a kidney, and the we can discuss an exhaust overhaul meet! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Well I was able to get all the cabling complete so i can install my new amp once that arrives. But on the way home last night, i hit a bump and my head unit stopped working. Its the wierdest thing but i get a Mute message on the screen which is suppose to be a feature with cell phones but i dont have my phone connected to the deck so not sure whats wrong with this.

Well I was going to post something Sunday night but I was to tired after all the work we did. Needed to soak in a hot tub for a while, my back was killing me. Anyway we finished both cars, Alex's car we replaced all the shocks and springs and also put the camber kits in. With Knoi's we just did the springs and shocks, his sets about the same as mine now. It was was really great the way everyone pitched in to do the work on them, had four people working at all four corners on Alex's car at the same time. We slowed a bit with Knoi's. It was a lot of fun for all of us. Poor Thomas just got to work on his car only pretty much, but besides the stereo work he relocated his license plate which I helped him with. Those who attendanted Sundays meet were: Ed and his girl friend, Khoi, Alex, Thomas, Sandy and Dennis and finally Geo.

That bracket for his license was pretty slick. What did that run you anyways?

I meet my first speed bumps today, and only found one set that didn't like me no matter how slow I went. I hope I'm not scraping anything important.... [img]redface.gif[/img]
Its definately more bouncy than my stocks, but the side-side squishiness is gone. I'm going to be calling around tomorrow about alignments. Any recomendations anyone?
Either today or tomorrow I am going to slap in some washers in the back, I figure one thicker one per bolt.

It was a great meet for me. I got the car levelled out and $2.59 gas instead of the $2.85 that it was in Olympia. The ride home felt a little loose as the car didn't seem to want to track too well. The bumps in the road still sounded loud and as 'harsh' as the bad stuff we just pulled but I didn't feel like I was on the verge of losing control with the Tokico setup that I had felt before.

Went to Schwab yesterday and had them do an alignment. The camber on the front were well within spec and they didn't really tweak that. Toe-in was way off however. The left was at -0.41 and the right -0.40. It is now at 0.01 and 0.02 respectively and the handling is much better. The steering wheel is also correctly centered now too. The back end was another issue. The camber on the left was ok at 0.1 but the right rear was at -1.8. They said they couldn't adjust that wheel and that I needed a new adjustable arm for 67.83 and 35.00 dollars labor to get that into the -1.5 to 0.5 range. I'm almost thinking they have a problem with that damn alignment machine because my sister's Accord wagon had problems with the rear camber too, if I remember correctly. The toe was also off for the rear to the tune of -0.26 on the left and -0.04 on the right. They are at 0.06 and 0.05 now and I'm thinking I might forgo the adjustable arm unless someone can convince me that a -1.8 in a range of -1.5 to 0.5 is going to cause mucho problems for me down the road and the fix is worth the expense.

Knoi, we'll need to add some washers to bring it into specs is all on that one wheel. It sure didn't look bad when I checked it. I forgot to show you what you have to do on that, I only told Alex I guess.

Thanks! My tinkering is slowing down due to funds, but here is the list of to do's: Wheels, exhaust, paint, JDM visors, Maplights, custom tails, and a shiny new header.
Thats pretty much the list so far. But I'm not just broke, I'm broken. So all will have to wait a long while. I was thinking about rattle caning the whole car, one small section at a time a nice dark green. I did my own spoiler and it turned out good. (not great, but good) All things considered...

BTW, I forgot to remove the pop can when I backed out; it didn't make it.

Shooting the car is nothing. It's the prepping and finding a suitable spray booth that's a pain.
